Our Wood in Use
It's always nice to see what our customers make with the timber they buy from us.
Below are examples of what's achievable with a little imagination.

Decking in Sweet Chestnut and Oak
The client had originally requested Oak for this project but due to its high tannin content I suggested Sweet Chestnut for the decking with Oak bearers.
It's unfortunate that the only boards of suitable thickness I had in stock were of figured catspaw and pippy grain but it makes a nice talking point during parties.
Handmade floorboards in English Oak for the hallway of a Georgian town house
Although the boards were secured via secret screwed, the client had requested the boards to give the appearance of age so nail holes were punched into the surface and then stained black to give the impression of traditional nailed boards
The client had specified they wanted random width boards in random lengths which on the face of it seems a simple request but in reality meant that sufficient boads of each width had to be made so as not to run out halfway down a run
The board edges and ends were planed and sanded too give a look of age, the boards were also stained including the tongues before laying, this meant if the boards shrink there won't be any sign of new wood showing.
Once down the boards were hand sanded in places and then polished with several coats of a hard wearing floor wax to give the appearance of age.
